Sharing Googles Drive

There are two ways to achieve this depending on your needs:

1. Sharing a Regular Folder

This is ideal if you want to share a specific directory with a limited number of people or want more control over access permissions. Here’s how:

  • Go to https://www.google.com/drive/.
  • Create a new folder by right-clicking anywhere in the drive and selecting “New > Folder.”
  • Name your folder and upload any files you want to share.
  • Right-click on the folder and select “Share.”
  • Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share with. You can also add a Google Group for easier sharing.
  • Set the permission level (viewer, commenter, or editor) for each person or group.
  • Click “Send.”

2. Sharing a Folder with a Link (Anyone with the Link) (Preferred for Coastal Clicks)

This option allows anyone with the link to access the folder. Be cautious when using this method, as anyone with the link will have the access level you specify (viewer, commenter, or editor). Here’s how:

  • Follow steps 1 and 2 from the previous method to create and name your folder.
  • Right-click on the folder and select “Get link.”
  • Choose the access level from the drop-down menu (viewer, commenter, or editor). Anyone with the link will have this permission.
  • Click “Copy link.” Paste this link wherever you want to share the folder, like an email or document.

Important Note: Sharing with a link is not recommended for confidential information. Anyone with the link can access the folder, even if you didn’t share it directly with them.
